St. Paul's Church Clergy

St. Paul's is blessed with a dedicated and faithful staff of lay and ordained professionals. Some of the clergy you see on Sunday mornings. Some you speak to on the phone. All of them see their work as a ministry of service to the parish and to the larger community.

St. Paul's Church currently has two clergy. The Reverend David Jones is our Rector and The Reverend Jon Minns is our Assistant Rector. Please read the information below to get to know them a little better. You may also contact the Church office to set up an appointment with either.

The Reverend David N. Jones, Rector

The Rev. David Jones, has two Masters Degrees, and has been Rector of St. Paul’s for 13 years.  He is widowed and the father of three grown children. The youngest is aged 19 and in his second year of college. Prior to becoming Rector of St. Paul’s, David was the Director of College Ministry in the Diocese of South Carolina and Assistant at St. Andrew’s Church in Mt. Pleasant. During the 1980’s, he was the director of college ministry at George Mason University in nearby Fairfax, Virginia.  David’s wife, Katy, died and went home to the Lord while he was serving as Pastor here at St. Paul’s. This experience was significant in the life of David, his children, this parish and his many friends from all across Virginia. The Reverend Jon Minns, Assistant Rector

The Rev. Jon Minns is Assistant Rector for Youth and Young Families. Jon started in this position on July, 1, 2010. Jon is excited to be given the opportunity to serve our Lord Jesus Christ in this capacity. Jon is married to Celeste and they have 4 children. Jon is a graduate of George Mason University and Trinity School for Ministry. Before ordained ministry Jon served as a landscape contractor in Northern Virginia. Jon was theologically trained in Pittsburgh – hence has been trained to be a true Pittsburgh Penguin Hockey Fan. Jon says – if he were given the gift of “free time” he loves to Mountain Bike with his wife.
